Automatic Renewal Terms

This is a plain-language summary provided for transparency and is not legal advice. Final terms will be reviewed by counsel before public launch.
Salon Suite Hub (a Mendocino Software product) offers paid subscriptions that renew automatically. In line with California's Automatic Renewal Law (as updated by AB 2863) and the FTC's negative-option rule, this page explains our pricing, how we obtain your consent, and how to cancel — clearly and conspicuously.
1. Plans, pricing & automatic renewal
Plus — $20/month (or $200/year). Your own branded website, gallery, reviews, SEO, email appointment reminders, and custom-domain connect.
Premium — $49/month (or $490/year). Everything in Plus, plus Square sync, analytics, online store checkout, and priority support.
Free — $0. A listing on the Salon Suite Hub directory with online booking. No card required and no automatic renewal.
Paid plans renew AUTOMATICALLY at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual), and Mendocino Software will charge your payment method the amount above for your plan, until you cancel.
2. Your express affirmative consent
Before any charge, you must give express affirmative consent to these continuous-service terms by checking a box that is not pre-checked, positioned right next to the Subscribe button.
The statement you agree to reads: “I authorize Mendocino Software to charge my payment method [your plan amount] every [month/year] for my [plan name] subscription. I understand that this service will continue automatically until I cancel. I provide my express affirmative consent to these continuous service terms and authorize these recurring charges.”
No free or promotional period converts to a paid plan without your affirmative consent obtained before the initial charge.
3. How to cancel (as easy as signing up)
Because you subscribe online, you can cancel online through the same account portal — directly and without any retention surveys, save-offers, or extra steps.
Steps: (1) Sign in to your account. (2) Go to Settings → Billing. (3) Under “Subscription Management,” click “Cancel subscription.” (4) Confirm.
There is no cancellation fee. When you cancel, you keep paid access until the end of your current billing period, then move to the Free plan. Your directory listing, your bookings and your client records all stay.
Two things do change on the Free plan, and we would rather you knew before you cancelled than after. Your own branded website stops serving — that includes any custom domain you have pointed at it, which will need to be repointed or will show an error until you upgrade again. And team logins beyond the first are switched off: no account is deleted and no data is lost, but those team members cannot sign in until a plan with more logins is active. Upgrading restores both, exactly as they were.
Changing plans works the same way. An upgrade takes effect immediately and we charge the prorated difference for the remainder of the current period. A downgrade — to a lower paid plan or from annual to monthly billing — takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep the plan you have already paid for until then.
If a renewal payment fails, nothing is switched off. We email you, keep your account running, and continue retrying the charge for approximately three weeks. Only if it never succeeds does the subscription end and your account move to the Free plan.
4. Renewal reminders
We send an annual reminder to every subscriber on an automatic-renewal plan. It states your renewal frequency, the exact amount that will be charged, and clear step-by-step instructions (with a direct link) to cancel.
For any material change to price or terms, we provide advance notice before it takes effect.
5. Our recordkeeping
We retain verification of your affirmative consent and of any cancellation request for at least three years, or one year after your subscription ends, whichever is longer, in a readily accessible format.
6. California consumers
Under California Civil Code § 1789.3, California users may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Boulevard, Suite N-112, Sacramento, California 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210 or (916) 445-1254.
