Formal commitment to accessibility
Mendocino Software is formally committed to ensuring digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities. We recognize that an inclusive digital environment is essential for providing equitable services to all users.
Accordingly, we are continually improving the user experience for our clients and applying the most rigorous accessibility standards to the Salon Suite Hub website, mobile applications, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings.
Compliance status and standards
Mendocino Software has established the objective of full technical alignment with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level A and AA standards. While Mendocino Software is a private commercial entity, we recognize that our products are frequently deployed within public agencies, educational institutions, and special districts.
Therefore, we strive to meet or exceed the technical standards required of public entities under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California Government Code section 7405.
Our roadmap is specifically informed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) final rule published on April 24, 2024, which establishes WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA as the technical success criteria for digital content. We are fully cognizant of the regulatory deadlines mandated for public entities — specifically April 24, 2026, for larger jurisdictions and April 26, 2027, for smaller jurisdictions and Special District Governments. Mendocino Software is committed to ensuring our platform supports our partners in meeting these critical compliance horizons.
Our efforts to improve compliance
In accordance with the mandates of the DOJ and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, we evaluate and improve our software based on the four fundamental “POUR” principles of digital accessibility: perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.
Perceivable: We ensure that information and user interface components are presented in ways that users can perceive. This includes providing alternative text descriptions for non-text content, such as images and icons, and maintaining a high contrast ratio between foreground text and background elements to accommodate users with visual impairments.
Operable: We work to ensure that all user interface components and navigation are operable. All software functionality is designed to be accessible via keyboard interface, ensuring that users who cannot use a mouse or who rely on assistive technology can navigate our systems effectively and without interference.
Understandable: Our digital content is designed to be understandable to all users. This requires that text content is easily readable and navigable. We strive to ensure that our user interface operates in predictable ways, reducing cognitive load and assisting users in avoiding and correcting input errors.
Robust: We ensure that our content is robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents and assistive technologies. We prioritize compatibility with screen readers, e-readers, and other assistive devices to ensure our software remains functional across evolving technical environments.

Ongoing improvement and remediation
Digital accessibility is a dynamic and ongoing effort. Mendocino Software periodically reviews its web and mobile content to identify potential barriers and ensure conformity with evolving WCAG standards.
In alignment with the DOJ’s technical standards, users should be aware of five (5) specific “exceptions to the rule” where content may not yet meet WCAG 2.1 standards:
1. Archived web content: Content that is maintained exclusively for historical or reference purposes and is not altered after archiving.
2. Pre-existing conventional electronic documents: Conventional electronic documents that existed prior to the established compliance dates of April 2026 or April 2027.
3. Third-party content: Content posted by third parties that is not under the direct control or authorship of Mendocino Software.
4. Individualized, password-protected documents: Conventional electronic documents that are individualized and secured for specific users (for example, individualized user reports or password-protected account statements).
5. Pre-compliance social media posts: Social media content that exists prior to the applicable regulatory compliance dates.
Mendocino Software remains dedicated to the remediation of identified accessibility barriers and the continuous optimization of our software for all users.
